I would like to share my experience in the recent
MRCS exams in Singapore with others.
Neuro-ophthalmology
3rd nerve palsy - investigation and follow up.
Horizontal nystagmus - differentiate btw
congenital and acquired form. Case 3
Traumatic optic neuropathy - signs associated with
ocular trauma. Case 4
Myasthenia gravis.
Medical Case 1
Recent cataract op - ECCE limbal wound and pale
OD, not sure the actual diagnosis Case 2
Clinically significant macular oedema and fresh
PRP scar. Case 3
Lisch nodule + gutatae - Discussed NF
Posterior segment Case 1
ARMD/PCV - discussed investigation ICG/FFA. Case 2 Epiretinal membrane and pseudohole.
Case 3
Bulls eye maculopathy with pigmentary retina
changes. Case 4 Full thickness macular hole with bony specules at mid periphery.
Case 1
Traumatic vitreous haemorrhage - discussed
complications. Case 2
Keratoconus in one eye + PK in the other. Case 3
Congenital ptosis.
Cornea + Glaucoma Case 1
Narrow angle with PI in 1 eye, then move to the
other eye with tube, PAS, pseudophakia, PS. Was ask to tie other findings
together. Case 2
Trabs - Discussed low IOP post trab and its
management. Case 3
Pseudoexfoliation glaucoma. Case 4
Trabs in a young patient with peak pupil and Haabs
striae.
In general, examiners are very helpful and
professional. They provided clues when I was stuck and moved on quickly to the
next case once I got the findings and diagnosis that they want. |
